Communications Committee (Comm) is responsible for keeping Student Senate transparent and informing the undergraduate student body about the activities of Student Government. We are a committee specifically designed to maintain information flow between Senate and the students and are responsible for the majority of the publicity that Senate does (e.g social media campaigns, Senate Week, PR for events, etc.) to keep the student body involved in our activities. This year, we will have a special focus on highlighting the voices and needs of underrepresented members of our community.

What are we working on right now?

The goal of this project is to provide a streamlined process for other senate committees to collaborate with Comm to advertise events. Currently, we are working with Business Affairs to increase awareness about the CMU shuttle system.
After each GBM, we plan on releasing a document highlighting some of our main updates from the week. This includes both news and ongoing initiatives. It will most likely be posted in the Senate Facebook page.
We will be meeting with The Tartan soon to discuss expanding the Student Government column to include more coverage of Senate’s activities.

Chair: Alisha Lokhande (Statement of Intent)
Meeting Time: Tuesdays 6:30 – 8:00 PM (Senate Office, CUC 333)
